7. ITB Leisure Trend Forum 2017 by SD Group

Main focus of the 7th ITB Leisure Trend Forum is to link the topics HLHL = Health - Leisure - Hospitality - Lifestyle. Recognizable trends and developments in the current leisure industry are discussed with renowned guests from industry and sciences. The annual event is hosted by the SD Group and its CEO Mrs. Sylvia Dinter, in co-operation with Mrs. Prof. Dr. Heike Bähre, HWTK University of Applied Sciences.

The ITB Leisure-Trend-Forum traditionally outline questions about which trends are important for destinations, investors, operators as well as city planners and their projects. How does the leisure trend and lifestyle affect the different industry fields? What kinds of experiences are provided by the international leisure industry?

Therefore the focus of discussions and lectures will be the following in 2017:

  • Germany as destination of medical tourism: How does the international demand will develop? Which are the favorite travel destinations for Germans to get medical services?
  • Is there a tension field between healthiness and lifestyle? If so, what should the provider in the field of medical tourism keep in mind in consideration of the international marketing?
  • The tourism destination as an experience creator: What is the key to success of cooperation between state sector, planners, hotel operators, leisure attractions and other players?
  • How are new lifestyle and leisure destinations look like? Is urbanity important for these subject fields?
  • Where are the advantages and disadvantages for the urban or rural regions regarding to the development of leisure destinations?
